Making an Impact

Each year our annual benefit is held to raise awareness of and funding for our comprehensive after
school services. We serve students and families from some of the most under-resourced neighborhoods
in Oakland. Featuring family friendly entertainment, gourmet food, and inspirational guest speakers - this
event is open to all and is our attempt to bring our community together. For many local to large
businesses, this is an opportunity to demonstrate a vested interest in the community we live and work in.
Local entrepreneurs of food, beverage, and other products or services will find our benefit event to be a
great opportunity to showcase their products through our silent auction and reception hour.

OASES and EBAYC recently merged operations and as a result, our benefit event will be bigger than
ever before and all money raised will have an even wider impact as our number of beneficiaries has
increased! Please see our press release for more information about our exciting partnership.

Our goal is to raise $80,000 through this event to secure funding for our after school, counseling, and
community organizing programs for approximately 1,500 underserved youth and families in Oakland.
Your support is a smart and sustainable investment in our community.

TOGETHER, EBAYC AND OASES
• Have over 65 years of experience serving the Oakland community.
• Serve over 1,500 young people and their families.
• Run over 12 different programs ranging from after school programs for K-12th graders in ten
different Oakland Unified School District schools, to special programs such as the Food Enterprise
Project, Street Team, and Corridor Project to promote healthy eating, address human trafficking
and violence issues, and to provide counseling to delinquent youth, respectively.
• Serve a multicultural community of Asians (50%), Latinos (35%), and African Americans (15%) in Oakland neighborhoods.
